Chris Franks, Chair
Chris has been a volunteer in the international development sector for 35 years – she is Chair of RESULTS Australia, Director of Gateway Bank and a member of CUFA International Programs Committee.
She has been director and Chair of a number of not for profit, government, mutual and corporate organisations including Chair of ACFID Code of Conduct Committee and the recipient of the inaugural ACFID Award for Outstanding Service to the Aid and Development Sector.
Chris believes our society is stronger, better managed and better governed with women in leadership roles. To that end her aim as the founder and Chair of the Women In Aid & Development network is to encourage, inspire and support women to advance their careers and in time secure leadership, CEO and director roles.
Terina Stibbard, Director
Terina has spent over 25 years as a community development and inclusion leader in Timor-Leste, PNG and throughout southern Africa to establish and support programs that improve local capability and resilience across issues such as food security, inclusion, health, education, water and sanitation, and mitigating the impact of HIV and AIDS.
Terina is a director on the board of Results International and has also held senior management roles in Australia delivering disability, community development and inclusion programs to build resilient and inclusive communities. Terina has a Masters in International and Community Development, as well as a Masters of Professional Education and Workplace Training and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Michelle Jouve
Michelle has over 15 years of professional experience within the corporate sector across various areas including corporate strategy, business development, corporate finance and investment banking. Michelle has overseen the corporate development functions at various ASX listed companies and is currently the Head of Corporate Development at one of them.
In her spare time, she can be seen volunteering for various organisations promoting children’s wellbeing and a sustainable environment. Michelle is multi-lingual and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Actuarial Studies) from The University of Melbourne.
Emma Bull
Emma is a professional advocate, specialising in public policy, politics and strategic campaigning. She is currently leading a range of civil society and commercial partners to deliver methane measurement and abatement policy reform, engaging and persuading decision-makers and business leaders to change minds, systems and lives.
Emma previously worked at Oxfam Australia and Amnesty International and spent 8 years as political advisor in the federal parliament and during that time campaigned to protect our environment, price pollution, label our food, get women into our corporate boardrooms and get kids out of detention.
Emma is a Non-Executive Director of Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) and served 4 years as a Non-Executive Director at one of Australia’s leading wellness and spa companies. She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, admitted to practice as a solicitor in NSW and holds a Master of Public Policy & Politics.
Jonathan Hannah
Jonathan became a Director and the Treasurer of Women in Aid & Development in 2025 and brings to the board over 10 years of international professional experience in accounting, auditing and transactions.
Jonathan currently works as Senior Manager for PKF Australia where he is responsible for managing and executing IPO and due diligence engagement for clients performing M&A activity. In previous roles, Jonathan gained strong experience in audit and compliance working for Grant Thornton, Deloitte and HLB Mann Judd in the UK, the Cayman Islands and Australia on a range of public, private and NFP clients.
With a passion for human rights, equality and the LGBT+ community Jonathan also supports DEI policies at PKF Australia through the firms national Gender Equity Network. Jonathan has a double Bachelors of Law and Business management degree with honours (LLB Hons) from the University of Glasgow and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Scotland (CA).
Jill Scanlon
Jill is a Media and Communications consultant in the Development sector with a particular interest and strength in Sport for Development advocacy, facilitation and partnerships.
She is also a journalist, lecturer, returned Australian volunteer (Pacific) and strong advocate of social inclusion (gender and disability), especially through sport and has worked with the NGO Sport Matters as Media Adviser since 2014.
She worked for the ABC in international broadcasting for 25 years and then turned her focus to blending her love of writing and sport with her passion for the work being done in the international and community development sector underlined by her BA in Media, Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Masters Degree in International and Community Development.
She has spent two of the past three years living and working as a volunteer in Vanuatu in Media and Communications roles which mainly involved capacity building, strategic planning and stakeholder/partnership development.
Vivian Chordi
Vivian works in the higher education sector advising on the design, development and implementation of projects focused on gender-based violence prevention, education and response, and embedding gender equity strategies across a range of programs. She is passionate about primary prevention of gendered violence and sector-wide education on increasing understanding of how gender inequality drives violence against women, supporting long lasting change to promote more respectful and inclusive communities.
Vivian's experience in international development includes working in Bangladesh, integrating gender mainstreaming into food security programs under DFAT's Australian Volunteers for International Development; in Colombia with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) securing grants to combat gender-based violence in Internally Displaced People camps, and with a local NGO in Cambodia consulting on prevention of sexual exploitation of women and child protection. Vivian is also an experienced facilitator and has led the development and application of training workshops, cultural programs, and humanitarian design summits across Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nepal, Cambodia, and China, embedding a gender lens through community consultations and applying a person-centred, strengths-based approach in all aspects of her work.
Vivian holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in International Relations & Cultural Studies and Community Development, and a Masters of Peace and Conflict Studies (with a focus on Gender and Human Rights) from The University of Sydney. Vivian is also a member of the WiAD Mentoring Committee.
